On the go | Mitch Deli has a new home

The beloved Mitch Deli, opened by chef and teacher Maxime Gagné in the summer of 2020, has just moved into a new location.

Formerly attached to the popular 180g record store, in the middle of avenue De Lorimier, the sandwich shop is now located a little further northeast, rue Beaubien Est, near 2and Ave.

If there is less space to eat outside, there will at least be warm tables to accommodate customers during the long winter months.

“The Tempo shelter was thefun, but at some point, a more permanent solution had to be found. We made crazy sales in the summer, then we ate up all our profits in the winter,” explains Maxime Gagné.

The menu remains the same, with the unmissable fried chicken sandwich, falafel, popcorn chicken, pickle salad, chocolate-dripping cookies. The occasional little “surprise” appetizer makes an appearance, such as the surprising fried blood sausage served with bacon bits, roasted parsnips and grilled lettuce that we tasted during our visit this week.

In the refrigerator, in addition to bottles of artisan wines, there are ready meals to take away. And don’t worry, the bric-a-brac look that made the charm of the original Mitch is also the signature of the new location.
