Old Montreal is Canada’s most “instagrammable” spot for tourists, far ahead of Niagara Falls and the Whistler Blackomb ski resort north of Vancouver.
A new study by CasinoBonusCA.com compared different tourist locations based on the number of Instagram posts that contained the location hashtag.
Old Montreal thus appears 22,398,024 times, compared to only 6,328,308 for Niagara Falls. Whistler, which comes in third place, only counted 3,526,920 posts.
This is followed by Old Quebec (2,565,213), Toronto’s CN Tower (1,769,780), Granville Island (819,990) and Stanley Park (789,493) in Vancouver.
The comparison site analyzed the hashtags that referred to the 50 biggest tourist destinations in the country, according to travel sites, in order to rank the most popular. Posts without hashtags were not included in the comparison.
