Less than a month after the end of the World Cup, women’s football returns to the fields of the French championship, D1 Arkema, for its first day scheduled for September 15, 16 and 17. With the presence of 12 teams, the championship is split into two phases: the regular season which ends after 22 days (May 8, 2024), then the play-offs during which the top four in the ranking compete. The semi-finals will take place on May 12, the “small” final and the final are scheduled for May 17.
Olympique Lyonnais, champion for 16 of the last 17 seasons, is therefore putting its title back on the line for this 2023-2024 season, a title that Paris Saint-Germain obviously, but also Paris FC and FC Fleury 91 would like well go get it. The outgoing champion will also find his Parisian runner-up on the second day. Back in the elite, Saint-Etienne will travel to Reims, while the other promoted, Lille, will host Paris FC.
