Nupes decides to withdraw 90% of its amendments up to article 7

The left alliance wants to accelerate the debates so that the Assembly examines before the end of the week article 7 providing for the postponement of the legal retirement age.

The New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) withdrew, on the evening of Wednesday February 15, 90% of its amendments up to article 7 of the pension reform project, learned franceinfo from socialist and rebellious parliamentary sources. This represents thousands of amendments.

The left alliance wants to speed up the debates and that the National Assembly can examine before the end of the week article 7 at the heart of the reform, providing for the raising of the legal age of departure from 62 to 64 years.

The Socialist Party withdrew this Wednesday evening 80 of its 110 amendments, excluding amendments therefore relating to article 7 and the following. The Communist Party for its part invited the journalists to a press conference Thursday morning at 9:30 am. On Tuesday, the president of the environmental group in the National Assembly explained that the EELV deputies were also “ready to withdraw all the necessary amendments”.

According to majority deputies contacted by franceinfo, this will however not be enough to allow the National Assembly to examine this famous article 7 of the bill before the end of the week.
