Nuits d’Afrique takes place in the city next week

The Festival international Nuits d’Afrique begins its big return to the metropolis next week with an enhanced experience for festival-goers, to bring us closer to African, Caribbean and Latin American cultures.

With an expanded site, international artists and more than 150 concerts and activities offered from July 12 to 24 in Montreal, the table is set for a unique multicultural journey for the 36th edition. In all, more than 700 artists from 30 countries will take to the city’s stages. They will perform through eight series of indoor and outdoor concerts (from July 19 to 24), in the quadrangle of the Quartier des spectacles.

Singer-songwriter Tiken Jah Fakoly will kick off this 36th edition of the festival on July 13 at MTELUS. While the hypnotic Nigerian afrobeat of Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, accompanied by his son Made Kuti, will conclude the fortnight on July 19, on the outdoor stage.

Fabiana Cozza, Ghetto Kumbé, Moktar Gania & Gnawa Soul, Cheikh Ibra Fam, Pongo and Pulkes Band are also part of the program.
