“Nothing good will come of it”, singer Raphaël “embarrassed” by the career of his wife, Mélanie Thierry

After the births of Roman in 2008 and Aliocha in 2013, Mélanie Thierry and Raphaël will soon have a third child! And this is not the only baby that singer Raphaël will have this year. His new album, “Another life”, is already in the bins. Invited this March 11, 2024 on Europe 1 to talk about it, he did not escape a question about his wife…

“Don’t kiss this boy, nothing good will come of it! Believe me!”

She who we saw in 2023 in “The workbench“, “Suddenly Alone” And “Captives”, successfully continued his career in cinema. And Raphaël supports her, but admits that it is not always easy… He explains in fact: “I don’t think it’s like in Yvan Attal’s film, My wife is an actress. And to add: “No, it’s dizzying to see her in magnificent films, to read a script, sometimes I don’t read it, to see her work for months, years, to hear from the filming, and then at a given moment I enter the room, and there is this feeling of dizziness. My heart is pounding as if I were seeing one of my kids doing a show, that’s it.”

An adorable statement from someone who has shared Mélanie Thierry’s life for over 20 years now, and who has been to numerous screenings. Spectator and lover, he nevertheless admits: “I want to be amazed, at the same time, I can be embarrassed by things”. He lists all the things that upset him about his wife. “have a new life, new children, intimacy, she can die in the film, finally all these things which are still possibilities of life”. And of course, also, love scenes, which he does not avoid. “Sometimes if there’s a kissing thing, I say to myself ‘no, don’t kiss this boy, nothing good will come of it! Believe me !‘” he jokes on the radio.

“I’m not jealous.”

But Raphaël is not jealous, and defends him. He rocks : “It’s not jealousy, it’s really not my karma, I’m not jealous if I don’t have a reason to be. Not at all, frankly, it’s a feeling I don’t know. But it’s dizzying and then it’s a cinema thing, it’s not literature, it’s not song. What we see on the screen really happened, and we can’t say that it didn’t happen. And even if we watch the film again it happens again, it’s even worse!”
