The 2023 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on Friday October 6 to activist Narges Mohammadi, imprisoned in Iran, for “her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all”. The name of the winner was revealed at 11 a.m. in Oslo (Norway). The 51-year-old journalist is currently in a jail in the Islamic Republic where bare-headed women are blowing the wind of emancipation despite repression. The Nobel committee “hope” that Iran will release Narges Mohammadi, he defended after the announcement of his price.

Like every year, speculation was rife between women’s rights, the fight against global warming and international justice investigating war crimes. This year, there were 351 applications, comprising 259 individuals and 92 organizations.
