“No, we are not proud” of him, François Hollande responds to Emmanuel Macron

François Hollande insists that he is not proud of the actor “when looking at a young girl riding a horse, he sexualizes her”referring to the images broadcast by the program “Complément d’investigation” on France 2.

After the distribution of this magazine, the Minister of Culture Rima Abdul-Malak announced that disciplinary proceedings would be initiated by the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor against the actor. But on Wednesday evening, Emmanuel Macron disavowed his minister by affirming that the Legion of Honor is not “not here to preach”. François Hollande brushes aside this argument.

What the Legion of Honor should be for all those who receive it is pride because it is an action accomplished in the service of the general interest.

François Hollande more generally criticizes the attitude of Emmanuel Macron during this interview, which “spoke about Gérard Depardieu, his talent, the presumption of innocence”. He regrets the absence of words for “the women attacked, humiliated, (…) all these women who, through Gérard Depardieu, see each time what can be violence, domination, contempt”.
