No buyer has come forward to take over the two sites of the Valdunes company, the last manufacturer of train wheels in France, based in the North, France Bleu Nord learned from union sources following a social and economic report of the company Wednesday January 10 in the afternoon. According to information from France Bleu Nord, the deadline for submitting buyer offers, which was set for Wednesday, has therefore been extended to January 24.

The Valdunes company has two sites, one in Leffrinckoucke (Dunkirk) and its 90 employees, the second in Trith-Saint-Léger (Valenciennes) and its 200 employees. However, according to a union source, only one buyer has come forward, Europlasma, but only for the Dunkirk site.
The fate of the Valdunes company mobilized many elected officials, from all political sides. Wednesday afternoon, Xavier Bertrand, François Ruffin, Fabien Roussel, Marine Tondelier and the CGT signed a column, relayed by The voice of the Northentitled “For the sustainability and development of Valdunes”.
In November, the Lille commercial court placed Valdunes in receivership, abandoned in May by its Chinese shareholder MA Steel.
