No incentive bonus at Orpéa

The Orpéa group has been in turmoil since the publication of the book “Les Fossoyeurs” but the straw that broke the camel’s back is the abolition for staff of the profit-sharing bonus. Julie, a medico-psychological assistant, has to give up on her bonus of 750 euros… it sticks in her throat: ” We lived through covid for two years, we lived through the book that came out. The controversy that followed. We had to reassure the families. And after all that, we have nothing! They still announce a profit of 65 million euros. Where does all this money go? “ Beyond the pecuniary aspect, it is also the way that shocks Julie since the announcement of the abolition of this bonus came only fifteen days before its scheduled payment.

A premium that compensates difficult working conditions, Julie recalls: Monday, we were only two for thirty residents. It’s often the race. It is difficult to take our holidays because we know that we will not be replaced. “ Since the publication of the book “Les Fossoyeurs”, the Clos des Bénédictins has recorded fewer admissions. Overall the book is fair says the staff even if sometimes the line is forced, says Michèle: ” Me, I’ve been eating here for ten years almost every day and I can tell you that it’s good and we’ve had enough. Plus, it’s not expensive.”

The rationing of consumables, on the other hand, is a realitycontinues Julie: Sometimes we don’t necessarily put on the right change because we had to take some to give to other residents. This can cause discomfort because some residents would then have to be changed more often, but we don’t have the time. It’s true, we count everything and there aren’t enough of us. The positions are not attractive and temporary workers do not always want to stay.” Staff who also claim a thirteenth month. Orpéa has provisioned 83 million euros and canceled dividends to face possible sanctions.
