Once there, firefighters rescued a 19-year-old woman in cardiopulmonary arrest. She was able to be resuscitated on the spot and then evacuated to the CHU Hautepierre. Eight other people, more lightly injured, were also taken to hospital. All the inhabitants of the building had to be temporarily relocated.

The operation mobilized about forty firefighters. Tram traffic was cut off during rescue operations.
