Météo-France placed, on Sunday July 23, nine departments of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region on orange vigilance for thunderstorms: Ain, Rhône, Loire, Haute-Loire, Ardèche, Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Isère and Drôme. At the same time, three departments are placed on orange alert due to the heat wave. These are the Alpes-Maritimes and the two departments of Corsica: Haute-Corse and Corse-du-Sud. On the island of Beauty, Météo-France reports a “significant heat spike”. The alert is valid Monday morning, then again in the afternoon, after going yellow at midday.
