(Washington) Former Republican candidate for the White House Nikki Haley, who has sharply criticized Donald Trump in the past, announced Wednesday that she would vote for him in the November presidential election.
“I place my priorities in a president who will support our allies and hold our enemies accountable, who will secure the border – no more excuses – a president who will support capitalism and freedom,” she said during an intervention in a conservative think tank.
“Trump has not been perfect on these issues. I have made this clear on many occasions,” she added.
But Democratic President Joe “Biden is a disaster. So I will vote for Trump,” she said.
Appreciated by many moderate and independent Republican voters, Donald Trump’s former UN ambassador, however, issued a warning.
The ex-president should “reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and who continue to support me, and not assume that they will line up behind him,” she said.
This announcement could well reshuffle the cards among the vice-presidential candidates in the Republican camp, even if Mr. Trump recently assured that Nikki Haley was not one of the people he is considering for the position.
