After the bloody strike in Poltava, Ukraine has suffered new Russian bombardments. At least seven people, including three children, were killed in a strike against Lviv on the night of Tuesday 3 to Wednesday 4 September, according to the authorities. For the time being, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office reports forty injured, but explains that this toll could change because “search and rescue operations continue.”
According to the prosecutor, “several residential buildings in the historic part of the city” were affected, as well as “educational and medical institutions”. The Ukrainian president reacted on Wednesday morning, denouncing the “Russian terrorist attacks” and calling once again on the West to provide more military resources for “put an end to terror”.
Moscow has been stepping up its attacks on its neighbor since kyiv launched an offensive last month on Russia’s Kursk region, capturing hundreds of square kilometers in the biggest advance by a foreign army on Russian soil since the end of World War II.
On Tuesday, at least 53 people were killed and more than 200 were injured in a ballistic missile strike on the city of Poltava, according to the latest report from the Ukrainian Interior Ministry on Telegram. The missiles targeted a military institute and a nearby hospital there.
