Nicole Kidman honored by the American Film Institute

The American Film Institute announced Tuesday that it will present Nicole Kidman with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Nicole Kidman has enchanted audiences for decades with her boldness and poise,” Kathleen Kennedy of the Institute of Film of America (IAF) said in a statement.

The award, described as “the highest honour” for an actor, will be presented at a ceremony in Los Angeles next June. Nicole Kidman will be the 49e person to receive this award.

The actress, who notably won an Oscar in 2003 for her role in the film The Hours, is the first Australian to be honored by the IAF.
