NHL playoffs | The Stars take the lead with a 5-2 win over the Kraken

(Dallas) Roope Hintz scored two goals and an assist, Joe Pavelski scored his seventh goal of the second round of the playoffs and the Dallas Stars beat the Seattle Kraken 5-2 in Game 5 to take a 3-2 lead in their series.

Pavelski also got an assist on Hintz’s second net, 8:37 into the third period. It took about half a minute to confirm the goal, when at the time he wasn’t sure if the puck had entered the net. Radek Faksa completed the scoring in an empty net.

Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 29 shots.

Hintz has eight goals and 10 assists in 11 playoff games this year for the Stars. When Pavelski returned to the lineup after his concussion, he scored four goals, that’s all of his goals in the 5-4 overtime loss in Game 1 against the Kraken.

Wyatt Johnston also scored for the Stars. Adam Larsson and Jared McCann scored for the Kraken in the second period.

McCann, the Kraken’s goalscoring leader this season with 40, scored his first of the playoffs and became 18e team player to score in the playoffs.

Jason Robertson, who became the Stars’ leading 100 scorer this season, had three assists.
