NFL | Leader and Hall of Famer Bobby Beathard is no longer

Executive Bobby Beathard, four-time Super Bowl winner, has died aged 86.

A Washington Commanders spokesperson said Beathard’s family told the team that he died Monday at his home in Franklin, Tennessee.

Beathard served as director of player personnel for two NFL championships for the Miami Dolphins in the ’70s. He also won two Super Bowls as general manager in Washington in the ’80s.

Beathard served as a scout for the Kansas City Chiefs when they won the American Football League title and reached the Super Bowl in the 1960s. He also served as general manager for the San Diego Chargers when they lost in the Super Bowl against the 49ers of San Francisco in the 90s.

Involved with seven Super Bowl teams during his long career as a manager, Beathard was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Chargers owner Dean Spanos said in a statement that Beathard was “one of the best football talent evaluators in NFL history.”
