(LOS ANGELES) Green Bay Parkers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named regular-season MVP for the second straight year and fourth time overall on Thursday at a ceremony hosted by the NFL three days from the Super Bowl.

Rodgers is the second major player in the NFL to win the MVP award four times. Peyton Manning, the former star of the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, remains at the top with five trophies.
Rodgers had 37 touchdowns and passed for 4,115 yards during the regular season, being intercepted just four times.
He led the Packers to the top of the National Association, after almost stopping his career at the end of last season, failing to reach an agreement with his leaders for a contract extension.
A deal was eventually struck, but the 38-year-old quarterback found himself at the center of controversy over his refusal to get vaccinated, despite hinting during preseason camp that he had it summer.
He thus missed one game out of the 17 scheduled on the calendar, for a personal record of 13 wins and 3 losses. His performances on the court were excellent, although his hopes of winning another Super Bowl were dashed by a loss to the 49ers from San Francisco to 2and playoff round.
“It has been an incredible 17 years. I’m so grateful for all those memories and highlights over the years,” Rodgers said upon receiving his trophy, leaving the suspense hanging over his career.
