New series at TVA: unveiling of the trailer for “My mother”

After My sonauthors Anne Boyer and Michel D’Astous continue to explore the theme of mental health by now offering the series My mother (see the trailer here), worn by Chantal Fontaine.

The actress defends the role of her career by slipping into the skin of a 58-year-old woman who is diagnosed with bipolar disorder during her stay behind bars for fraud. Once released (on parole), she must rebuild herself and rebuild bridges with her three children, who have seen all the colors with her over the years.

By unveiling the trailer for My mother Wednesday, in view of the first episode which will be broadcast on Tuesday, November 8, at 8 p.m., on TVA, it was specified that the mother, named Chantal as her interpreter, will have to accept “for the first time her vulnerability”. She will not only have to take her medication and begin therapy, but “above all decide[r] to play fair with her family, whom she has always abused and deceived”.

The relationship with his eldest daughter Valérie (Marilyn Castonguay), 38, remains the most complicated. We will learn over the episodes what happened between them for a ditch to widen and become a river, even a river. The two other children, Justine (Rachel Graton) and Éric (Steve Gagnon) are also in the portrait, as well as their respective spouses, Rachid (Mustapha Aramis) and Christopher (Martin-David Peters).

The first images show a strong fiction rich in emotions of all kinds. We could say without being mistaken that it will stir.

Produced by Duo Productions, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, and directed by François Bouvier (Breakups, watchtower, 30 lives), My mother will also feature Richard Des Lys, Alexandre Goyette, Richard Robitaille, Luc Senay and Sonia Vachon.

The six episodes will slip into the time slot currently occupied by Anna and Arnaudi.e. Tuesdays at 8 p.m., starting November 8.
