Things are happening at TNM! Less than three weeks after the announcement of Lorraine Pintal’s departure in 2024, the board of directors of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde has just announced the appointment of Mario Trépanier to the position of interim co-general and administrative director.
With an initial duration of one year, Mr. Trépanier’s mandate consists of “pursuing, jointly with Mr.me Pintal, and the next general and artistic co-direction, the transformation of the TNM governance model initiated in June 2023. They will also ensure the creation and initial management of new creative and public reception spaces,” summarizes the press release. .
Mario Trépanier has worked in the cultural sector for more than three decades. He was general director at the Cultural Center of the University of Sherbrooke, where he developed expertise in audience development and tour organization, among other things.
He also served on the board of directors of RIDEAU, an organization which awarded him, in 2022, the Reconnaissance prize “to highlight his contribution to the performing arts community as a leader and initiator of promising projects for his community”. He also sits on the board of directors of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec since 2018.
