As of Sunday, July 7, new vehicles sold in the European Union will have to have new equipment such as reversing cameras or obstacle detection radars. Enough to improve road safety.

More connected and better equipped. Since Sunday, July 7, new vehicles will have to comply with new European regulations. Several features have become mandatory, such as autonomous emergency braking, obstacle detection when reversing, an alert in case of driver drowsiness or even lane keeping assistance. The goal: to halve road deaths by 2030.

In total, eight pieces of equipment that are currently optional or integrated into high-end models will be systematically present in each model. The price could therefore increase for smaller budgets. An average of 300 euros more to add for mandatory equipment but which the driver can deactivate each time they restart, provided they find the right button.
