New Caledonia: new outbreak of violence

An elementary school partly destroyed, set on fire by rioters. Monday June 24, again, the establishment welcomed 300 students. Tuesday June 25, parents and teachers came to shelter what could still be sheltered. For three days, clashes between demonstrators and the police have spread to the north of Nouméa (New Caledonia), but also to the Maré and Lifou islands. Utilities are trying to clear blocked roads to allow travel.

Two activists were brought to justice under a heavy police escort. They are incarcerated in New Caledonia and not in France.
