In Marseille, on the A7 motorway, buses can take new lanes reserved for them from this Thursday morning. Nine months of work were needed to develop, in both directions of traffic, these sections, located between the Plombières interchange and the Arnavaux interchange.
In the direction of traffic Lyon-Marseille, the section extends over almost a kilometer. It is twice as long in the other direction, Marseille-Lyon. These portions, limited to 90 km/hshould enable coach passengers to save time on their journey, especially during peak hours, when the sector is particularly congested.
Motorists are strictly prohibited from using these routes. The latter have also been equipped with a video surveillance system to verbalize those who would not play the game.
Since 2013, 20 kilometers of sections dedicated to buses have been developed in the metropolis of Aix-Marseille. The community participated in their financing, in the same way as the State, the Paca Region, and the department of Bouches-du-Rhône. A total of 30 million euros have been injected.
