Toulouse city hall issued a danger order for a building in the city center on Wednesday, August 21, France Bleu Occitanie learned. The building, located on rue Saint-Antoine-du-T, is not inhabited, but houses a ready-to-wear boutique on the ground floor.
It was the shop’s employees who alerted the town hall. The department in charge of the diagnosis detected several problems, including sagging floors, damaged main beams and cracks.
“The owner is required to secure the building before carrying out the final work to enable the building to be reused”writes the mayor of Toulouse Jean-Luc Moudenc. Until further notice, it is therefore forbidden to access it, whether to work, or to go up to the unoccupied dwellings on the floors.
Since the collapse of a building on Rue Saint-Rome in the city centre in March, which did not cause any injuries, several buildings in the historic centre of Toulouse have been the subject of danger orders.
