A new bone fragment of little Émile, who disappeared at the beginning of July in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), has been discovered.
The Haut-Vernet sector is cordoned off by the police. In the forest, investigators made a new discovery, according to the public prosecutor of Aix-en-Provence. A small piece of bone belonging to Émile was found in the same area as the clothes and other bones found 10 days ago 1 km from the grandparents’ house. This new bone fragment does not allow us to move forward on the cause of the child’s death at this stage. But DNA analyzes confirm that it is the little boy. The investigations promise to be long, but this new element can advance the investigation.

On the ground, around a hundred gendarmes are still mobilized in the search to try to find the slightest clue through an important device. Since the discovery of the first bones of little Émile, Saturday March 30, by a hiker, investigators have been looking for other bones and clues in order to determine the circumstances of the death of the little boy, who disappeared on July 8, 2023.
