Michel Barnier was at the Stade de France on Sunday evening, September 8, for the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games. During the day, he continued his consultations with a view to forming a new government. This Monday, he is receiving representatives of the LIOT group.

Present at the Stade de France on Sunday evening, September 8 for the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, Michel Barnier, the new Prime Minister, continues his negotiations to form his government. He received the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, as well as representatives of the Horizons group with Édouard Philippe. The Prime Minister wants to create a broad government before the budget deadline, with the aim of avoiding censure.

The new resident of Matignon will therefore have to govern with the specter of a motion of censure, whether for his general policy or for a text that he would present. La France insoumise and the National Rally have been excluded from the negotiating table. Representatives of the LIOT group are expected at Matignon at 3 p.m. this Monday.
