On the eve of a new strike sequence, the Quebec Interprofessional Health Federation (FIQ) announces that it has submitted a counter-offer to the Legault government on Friday.
The latest offer from the Legault government includes salary increases of 12.7% over five years. An offer deemed “clearly insufficient” by the FIQ.
The FIQ, which brings together 80,000 healthcare professionals, will be on strike again from December 11 to 14. The FIQ has already completed two strike sessions so far: November 9 and 10 and November 23 and 24.
The FIQ brings together nurses, practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists. Essential services must be maintained despite the strike, but some care will be slowed down on certain units.
The FIQ is also calling for a law on safe ratios in health care in Quebec and various measures to improve work-life balance.
