Every day, the images are more and more moving. On the road to exile, men, women and children left everything behind to flee the war in Ukraine. Nearly 400,000 refugees, more than half of whom arrived in Poland. Europe assures that 7 million Ukrainians will be displaced.
Getting off the bus, Przemysl (Poland)the faces are tired and serious. There are many children, very young. The emotion is also present as well as the joy of finally being safe for these Ukrainians who have fled. A great outpouring of solidarity has been organized in Poland. Some, placards in hand, offer to continue the trip to Poland, or elsewhere, for free. In Slovakia, tents have been set up to welcome refugees who are finally reassured.
Others are still blocked in Ukraine, Lviv station is stormed. But there is still a long way to go to reach Poland: nearly 400 km before reaching the border. On Sunday 27 February in the afternoon, the European Union recalled that it will continue to welcome refugees. Paris does not specify how many will be able to come to France. Others do the opposite. On the Polish border, hugs, men leave their families, they return to Ukraine to fight the Russians.
