nearly 130 middle and high schools targeted by attack threats for a week

The Ministry of Education took stock on Monday of a wave of threats disseminated thanks to hacking of the digital spaces of numerous educational establishments in France.

National Education remains the target of cyberattacks. “Nearly 130 high schools and colleges have been targeted by attack threats since last week” And “malicious acts” via digital work spaces (ENT), in Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France and the Grand Est region, the ministry indicated on Monday March 25.

Threats were recorded in 74 high schools in Ile-de-France on Thursday. The next day, 22 middle schools in Seine-et-Marne and 11 middle and high schools in the Strasbourg academy were targeted in turn. Eighteen middle schools and high schools in Hauts-de-France were targeted on Saturday, and others in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle on Monday, detailed the ministry.

Establishments of the Reims rectorate targeted in turn

For its part, the Haut-Rhin prefecture reported on Monday “multiple bomb threats in schools”who have “been evacuated”. The Bas-Rhin prefecture has specified that a “fortnight” high schools and colleges spread across the entire department had received since Sunday evening “messages relating to bomb threats”.

The Reims rectorate announced that around ten establishments had been the target of threats of attacks via their hacked ENTs, in Marne, Ardennes, Aube and Haute-Marne. According to the rectorate, some of the messages received contain a video of beheading, like the messages received last week by establishments in Ile-de-France.
