“The Saint-Jean show is a great entertainment club sandwich! says Pierre-Yves Lord. Each slice of the sandwich interests me, each of them separately may please me, but here they are all superimposed: the animation, the presentation, the music, a touch of history, an emotional charge, a celebration… I compare the National Day show with champagne: it’s very rare for someone to pop a bottle of bubbles because they’re really sad. To end the evening in style, Pierre-Yves Lord will have the chance to show off his DJ talents. Accompanied by La fanfare X, he will get the crowd dancing from 11 p.m.

Soprano Marie-Josée Lord is proud to be part of the troupe and considers the opportunity a real privilege. “It’s a good time to come together and to make Quebec our ‘land of life’, regardless of our origins, and to celebrate Quebec’s history. It’s like taking an evening to reconnect with this identity, our land, and our nation,” notes the one who finds it inspiring to rub shoulders with artists with complementary art forms. “I have a totally different art form than the other guests. I always like to be part of this kind of musical amalgamation because that’s the art. Art is not meant to be cut off and isolated in corners. Art is made of influences. »

“This is my first participation in a Saint-Jean show, says Vincent Roberge, alias Les Louanges. It’s a great honor because we all work to build and project a good image of Quebec. Besides, I’m going to perform a very meaningful song for me, so it’s really a great challenge and a great opportunity. It is as much a challenge as a privilege to represent the national holiday. »

Already in his third participation in the Montreal show, Patrice Michaud, seen here next to Les Louanges, says he loves “the unifying, family side” of the National Day show. “It is without a doubt a privilege to take part in it and to sing, with people that I love, beautiful songs. We must also not forget that all the stress is divided by the number of people on stage, and all the pleasure is increased tenfold by the number of people. »

“It’s my first Saint-Jean show in Montreal,” says Sarahmée. I’m excited! We leave more room for hip-hop and rap, which will surely bring more young people to watch the show. It warms the heart to know that my contribution to Quebec culture and music scene is being highlighted. »

Quebec’s first real rock star, Michel Pagliaro, will take the stage to perform his great classics Crazy of you and I hear knocking to the delight of the crowd. “I’m always available for this kind of show, it makes me happy to be invited. The national holiday is one more extra, ”confides the one who is very happy that the show takes place in front of an audience this year.

The director Pierre Séguin confides that the preparation of the show was not easy. “The challenge is that artists and musicians are in high demand. There is also a lack of personnel in all sectors. There were scheduling challenges in particular, and the fact of changing venues and starting to prepare the show a few months later than usual. “Pierre Séguin is more than happy that the great spectacle of the national holiday is back in Montreal, in person, the cradle of celebrations since 1874, he recalls.
