Victim of a savage and gratuitous attack on Friday in Montreal by two bandits who strangely did not extract anything from him, a man and his family are consumed with worry.
“Gone there, I would have really preferred them to steal something from me, to ask me for money or other things, question that I understand why I ate a volley of the same”, launches the victim 51, who asked not to identify himself for fear of reprisals.
“Hey!”
On Friday, shortly before noon, the man left his home in L’Île-des-Sœurs to go buy flowers at a local nursery. Back home, when he had just opened the rear door to carry his purchases in his garden, he was arrested.
“Hey!” launched one of the two young men.
“I turned around, then I got jumped on it. I fell to the ground and they hit me several times, mainly on the head,” he recalls.
When he was finally able to raise his head, he could see the silhouettes of his two attackers, who then fled on foot.

His wife, who was telecommuting on the floor of their residence, saw the end of the scene by looking out the window.
Identity Fraud
The victim, a 6ft, 240lb colossus, suffered a concussion as well as multiple lacerations to the head.
“My wife and my children are scared to death,” he says. It’s an unknown threat, so it’s really stressful. If this is a message that I should understand, I assure you that I do not understand it. I really think there was a mistake on the person.
The 50-year-old is thus referring to an identity theft of which he was the victim a few years ago. The man had been tricked by investing with a fraudster, who had then usurped his identity.
“It’s the only thing I see, says the one who has no criminal record. Has my name been used to defraud other people and do people resent me for it? Possible.”
The Montreal police are continuing their investigation into the case and confirm that no suspect has been arrested at this time. The attackers, who would have waited for their victim in front of his home before jumping on him, would be rather young and thin. One has white skin, the other has black skin and they are said to be just under 6ft tall. They were wearing baggy clothes and one of them sported a baseball cap.
