More strike days for Quebec blue-collar workers

Quebec’s blue-collar workers are announcing more strike days in July if no agreement is reached by then regarding the renewal of their collective agreement.

Their next walkout will take place from July 10 at 3 a.m. until July 15 “if necessary,” says the Canadian Union of Public Employees, affiliated with the FTQ, in a press release released Friday.

These blue-collar workers had already walked out for three days last week in order to increase the pressure on the employer.

However, an intensive period of negotiation is planned. The union hopes that this will unblock the talks.

The main points of contention are wages and work-life balance, the union reports.
