Already 16,000 seats sold to attend the Biarritz-Pays Basque 2022 Pelota World Cup this Friday. It is a real success for Lilou Echeverria, president of the French Federation of Basque Pelota (FFPB) host country of this World Cup, after Barcelona in 2018 and Zinacantepec (Mexico) in 2014. “It works very well“ confirms the president “for the finals everything is complete, now it’s starting to go well for the semi-finals. It’s a success, these places are sold to people here“, but the organizers also know that there will be additional demand when the All Saints holidays begin.
“For now, we have exceeded 16,000 places between sales, partnerships and quotas of each delegation“. The events of this World will take place mainly in Biarritz, headquarters of the competition, but also in Bayonne, Bidart and Hasparren. The pilotaris will compete in 18 disciplines, including frontball for the first time in six different pediments on the Basque coast
.
