Montreal | Two injured in hit-and-run

(Montreal) A motorist who drove inside the beacons of a road construction site late Wednesday evening, in the east of Montreal, would have mowed down two flagmen, injuring one of them seriously, before to escape.


The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) reported Thursday that the medical team at the hospital treating the 39-year-old man feared for his life.

As for the other road flagger, a 39-year-old man, he reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The motorist who allegedly caused this incident had not yet been located Thursday morning and the SPVM was not yet able to provide a description of his vehicle.

The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of Industriel and Saint-Jean-Baptiste boulevards, in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district.

The version of the facts obtained by the police was provided to them by witnesses.
