Montreal | Teenager stabbed near Saint-Michel metro station

A 14-year-old boy was injured by a bladed weapon on Saturday evening near the Saint-Michel metro station.

At 6:45 p.m., the Montreal Police Department (SPVM) was alerted by a call to 911 regarding a person who had been injured with a bladed weapon near the Saint-Michel metro station, in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough.

The victim, a 14-year-old teenager, was found conscious and injured in the upper body. “He was taken to an emergency centre and there is no fear for his life,” reports Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.

She said the SPVM canine unit was dispatched to the scene to search for evidence. Witnesses to the event were met, and checks with nearby surveillance cameras could be carried out this evening.

A security perimeter has been set up to allow investigators to clarify the circumstances of the attack, which occurred outside the metro station. “There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing,” concludes Mme Goatson.
