Montreal police are investigating a suspicious fire that targeted a parked vehicle in the Dollard-des-Ormeaux borough overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.
Police were alerted shortly after 2 a.m. to a burning vehicle parked in a private driveway on Mallard Street, near Alouette Street.
When the police arrived on the scene, the firefighters had already brought the flames under control, which however spread to another car parked nearby.
The damage caused to the two vehicles is considered significant, according to a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), adding that no one was injured.
The fire being of suspicious origin, the investigation was transferred to the arson section of the SPVM, said publicist Véronique Comtois.
