The event occurred around 6 p.m., when a 33-year-old man was walking with a friend on boulevard Rolland, near rue Pascal. According to information from the SPVM, a black car would have stopped near them, and shots would then have been heard. The 30-year-old was injured in both legs and managed to take refuge in accommodation nearby. He was then taken to hospital, where there are no fears for his life.

“The victim has difficulty explaining why she was the target of such an attack,” said Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the SPVM. The man in his twenties walking with the victim was not injured. No suspect has been arrested at this time, the SPVM said.

Investigators are trying to shed light on the circumstances of the event.
