Shots were fired Tuesday evening in the Pierrefonds sector, in the west of Montreal.
Montreal police were alerted by 911 calls to gunshots heard around 10:15 p.m. on Pierrefonds Boulevard, near Athena Street.
Once there, the police found a casing on the ground, but they did not locate a victim or arrest a suspect, according to the Montreal Police Department.
An investigation has been opened, said SPVM spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron, adding that investigators had to go to the scene to analyze the scene.
Surveillance cameras were to be viewed as part of this investigation into this shooting, of which it is not known whether or not there are victims.
