Montreal | Man victim of armed attack dies of his injuries

(Montreal) A 23-year-old Montrealer died from his injuries in the hospital where he was transported after being stabbed in the Saint-Laurent borough on Sunday.

So it’s the 30the to occur on the territory of the metropolis this year, confirmed the spokesperson for the Police Service of the City of Montreal (SPVM), Jean-Pierre Brabant, Sunday evening.

Earlier in the day, a call was made to 911 around 2:35 p.m. to report the armed attack.

Everything allegedly took place in an apartment on Boulevard Alexis-Nihon, not far from Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse in the borough of Saint-Laurent.

When the police arrived, they found the victim stabbed several times in the upper body and transported him to a hospital.

His attacker, a 20-year-old man, was also hospitalized to treat injuries also caused by a stab weapon which did not, however, endanger his life.

He was arrested in connection with this murder and should be met in the coming hours by police, said Mr. Brabant.

SPVM investigators are on site to investigate the circumstances surrounding this event.

The first hypotheses suggest an argument which would have degenerated between the two young men.

The police intend to meet witnesses and view images captured by video surveillance devices to shed light on the altercation.
