Montreal | Five suspects arrested in connection with shootings

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) arrested five suspects aged 15 to 20 accused of riddled with bullets a car with two adults and three children on board last August, in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Investigators also seized two handguns, a high-capacity magazine, ammunition and other evidence, the SPVM said in a press release released Thursday. The five suspects were arrested in homes located in the districts of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension and Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Three of them appeared in the Youth Chamber and at the Montreal courthouse. They face several charges and will remain detained until their release investigation. The other two were released pending the outcome of the investigation.

Remember that on August 21, a car with two adults and three children on board was riddled with bullets near Desmarteau and Hochelaga streets. The suspects fled in a white vehicle and the driver of the victims’ car followed them, points out the SPVM. “A few street corners later, the suspects fired again in the direction of the victims’ vehicle before leaving the scene for good,” describes the SPVM. No people were injured. »

The investigation was led by the Criminal Investigation Section East. Specialized units, the neighborhood post and the Tactical Intervention Group also contributed.
