Montreal Auto Show: the 2023 edition is confirmed

For the first time in three years, there will be a Montreal International Auto Show at the Palais des Congrès in January! The last edition dates back to 2020, since the next two were canceled due to the pandemic.

Although the health situation now allows the holding of large indoor public gatherings, the return of the most important auto show in Quebec remained relatively uncertain. Throughout the industry, this type of event is increasingly questioned due to the disinterestedness of a good number of builders.

However, the Corporation of Montreal Automobile Dealers has made efforts in recent weeks to ensure the participation of nearly twenty brands.

The 78th Montreal Auto Show will therefore be held from January 20 to 29, 2023 and will occupy a space of more than 200,000 square feet (about two-thirds of the usual area), i.e. the entirety of level 2 of the Palais des Congress. The goal is to show the greatest number of models to the public, including a wide range of electric vehicles.

“To date, the Show will present between 70% and 75% of the brands and models present in the top 10 of sales in Quebec, explains the executive director, Luis Pereira. We are aware that the automotive industry is going through a period of upheaval, but we are convinced that we are presenting a Show that is worth the detour! The shortage and lack of inventory due to widespread supply chain issues is affecting the entire industry and also our Show. Some manufacturers will therefore be absent, but those who will be with us are very enthusiastic about the idea of presenting their products to enthusiasts. »

Unfortunately, the organizers cannot announce for the moment the brands present. There is also talk of special attractions, but without further details. We do know, however, that the Gala Avant-Première Bénéfice evening, which raises funds for the benefit of six hospital foundations in Greater Montreal, will take place on January 19.

“We know that visitors will not find exactly the event to which they are accustomed, but what happiness we will have to find each other after these two years of absence, exclaims the former racing driver and spokesperson for the event. , Bertrand Godin. The whole team has worked hard to bring you the best of the 2023 automobile. So I’ll give you an appointment in January at the Palais des Congrès. I can’t wait to have a little chat with you! »

Further details on the event and ticket sales will be provided in early December.
