Montreal | An acupuncturist is the subject of a Public Health investigation

(Montreal) Clients who consulted Dashdorj Bayasgalan, also called Dr Ba, for treatments similar to acupuncture are invited to be screened for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.

The Montreal Regional Public Health Directorate (DRSP) opened an investigation after a report from the Order of Acupuncturists of Quebec (OAQ).

The individual offered treatments without being a member of the OAQ, which represents a risk for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.

Mr. Bayasgalan was established in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district.

According to Public Health, its clients may have been exposed to potentially contaminated acupuncture needles, “cupping” or syringes.
