The body of a man was recovered Saturday morning near the Jacques-Cartier wharf in Montreal.

A passerby contacted emergency services to report the body around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, said Caroline Chèvrefils of the Montreal City Police Service. He has not been identified.

Two weeks ago, passers-by saw a man in his thirties in distress in the area sink into the waters of the river. First responders were unable to locate him upon arrival.
