(Montreal) A man in his thirties who was in critical condition after going off the road on Sunday in Saint-Rémi, Montérégie, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The Sûreté du Québec confirmed the death of the man in the early evening.
It was a passerby circulating in Notre-Dame row who noticed that a vehicle was in a ditch and called the emergency services around 11:45 a.m.
“When the first responders arrived, an unconscious man was located in the stream, near the vehicle,” said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Catherine Bernard.
The investigation is continuing into the causes and circumstances of the event. Route 209, which was closed to traffic in the section where the vehicle was found, should reopen during the evening.
