The body of a 34-year-old woman was found Wednesday in a residence in Ormstown, in Montérégie, where her father was subsequently arrested.
Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers were called to intervene at a residence on Cairns Street around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a call reporting an “altercation between two people.”
There they found the lifeless body of a 34-year-old woman whose death was pronounced on site.
A 60-year-old man was quickly arrested at the scene of the tragedy before being transported to a hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.
The police are not yet confirming the link between the two people, but it would be a father and his daughter, according to our information.
The man will eventually be met by investigators when his condition allows, said SQ spokesperson Ève Brochu-Joubert..
Investigators from the major crimes and forensic identification division will go to the site to try to elucidate the circumstances leading to this event. Potential witnesses should then be met.
