Montérégie: a motorcyclist loses his life in Saint-Hubert

A motorcyclist lost his life after a collision with a car on Thursday evening in Saint-Hubert, Montérégie.

The accident occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Cousineau and Mountainview boulevards.

The motorcyclist, in his 40s, was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while the driver of the vehicle, also in his 40s, had to be treated for nervous shock.

“By the first reports and the elements obtained on the spot we had the information that a third vehicle had been involved in the seconds preceding the accident”, indicated François Boucher, spokesperson for the Police Department of the agglomeration of Longueuil (SPAL).

The driver of this vehicle, in his thirties, was arrested and could face dangerous driving charges. “He was met by investigators and was later released,” said Mr. Boucher.

The scene was protected to carry out the analysis and the expertise of the places. Investigators and reconstructionists were called to the scene to understand the causes and circumstances surrounding this accident.

“The precise circumstances of this accident remain to be determined,” concluded the SPAL spokesperson.
