(San Diego) Right fielder Mitch Haniger agreed to a three-year, $43.5 million contract with the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.
Haniger returns home, being a native of Mountain View, between San Francisco and San Jose.
Hanigan played five seasons with the Mariners.
This year, he helped Seattle reach the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
The Giants did not make the playoffs in 2022, going 81-81.
The previous season, they set a record high in club history with 107 wins.
The 31-year-old Haniger had 39 homers, 100 RBIs and 110 runs scored in 2021.
Haniger has added 11 home runs and 34 RBIs in 2022, in 57 games.
He suffered an ankle injury and has been on the sidelines due to COVID-19.
