(Minneapolis) Rocco Baldelli will return as manager of the Minnesota Twins next year, their president of baseball operations, Derek Falvey, confirmed Sunday.
Baldelli keeps his position despite a poor record since the beginning of the month, when the club had the chance to fight to reach the playoffs.
Aged 43, next year he will be in his seventh season at the helm of the club.
Before playing Sunday against the Orioles, the Twins were 7-17 since September 3 (and 82-79 overall).
Minnesota was the American League Central champion last year.
