The public prosecutor’s office in Milan (Italy) has opened an investigation after a demonstration bringing together some 1,500 neofascists, the Italian daily announced. Il Giorno, Tuesday April 30. The parade, which took place the day before, commemorated the death of Sergio Ramelli, who was killed in 1975 by far-left activists. The latter, linked to the Avanguardia Operaia, were condemned by the Italian courts in the 1980s. The demonstrators, who gave the “Roman salute”, were escorted by the police.

In January, hundreds of activists performed fascist salutes in the street in Rome, France Inter reported. They were gathered to commemorate the deaths of three neofascist activists from the Italian Social Movement during the Years of Lead.
