It’s a race that all Formula 1 fans look forward to every year. The Monaco Grand Prix is considered the most legendary car race in the championship and every year it is the event on the side of the Rock. The stars are jostling to attend the show and this year they have been served again with the fight which rages at the top of the classification between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. In the deep end for a year now, Mick Schumacher made his classes with the American team Haas, where he has not yet taken points this year.
On a complicated circuit and right in the middle of the city, the drivers have to be very vigilant in Monaco, especially when it has rained, like yesterday. While he is in 17th position on the 26th lap of the race, Mick Schumacher is the victim of a terrible accident. The 23-year-old German lost control of his single-seater and ran into the safety barriers at full speed, tearing the rear of his car. Impressive images since the vehicle is literally cut in two. A crash reminiscent of the terrible one experienced by Romain Grosjean in 2020, already at the Haas team.
Mick Schumacher pulls off miraculously
Finally, more fear than harm for the son of legend Michael Schumacher, who emerged unscathed from this accident which could have been much more serious. After leaving the track, he spoke and was reassuring about his state of health. “I feel good. The performance was there and we just had to stay on track but unfortunately I couldn’t do it”he regrets.
